Who are these people?

MEATBEE formed in the year 2000 and have proven to be a dynamic and ambitious band. Consisting of Kate Sullivan (vocals/rhythm guitar), Ben Lopez (lead guitar), and Charlie Bigg-Wither (drums), MEATBEE combine their unique blend of guitar driven rock and bluesy melody with passion and enthusiasm for their music.

MEATBEE have played supports for artists as diverse as Pete Murray, Jimmy Barnes, Waikiki, and Nitocris. The band push themselves not only to create exciting and innovative music, but also to keep shows varied in their format.

MEATBEE are not only renowned for their larger than life electric sets, but also for acoustic sets, and an acoustic duo put together by Ben and Kate. This has made them attractive to many artists as openers for a show.

MEATBEE have also had success in the recording studio. Their independently released debut EP 'If I Were King' was so popular that the first run of 500 CDs sold out due to sold out gigs within the first month of its release.

MEATBEE's second acoustic EP self-titled 'MEATBEE' received airplay on both the Triple J and Austereo networks, and again proved a fast seller at the band's live gigs.

MEATBEE's fourth studio release, The Chronicles of Sapphire Sundew is available in stores now.

When it comes to MEATBEE, the story is only just getting started. With a video clip that was aired on Rage but banned in the UK, a website which attracts over 1000 hits per month, live gigs which have attracted crowds of 500 to 800 punters, and two independently released EPs which combined have sold close to 2000 copies in their local area alone, MEATBEE have well and truly learnt how to stretch their wings and are ready to hit the ground running.

MEATBEE would like to thank for their continued support:
Chris and Lindi Holly, Paper Monkey, Jol Duval, FM104.7, BMA magazine, and of course: Toni-Lee and Sandie for your tolerance!
