KATE RUNS AWAY - Chuffs, Looking Glass and MEATBEE to celebrate
Kate from MEATBEE has decided to head off overseas. She has had several
delightful day trips to exotic locations such as the Belconnen Interchange
(as featured in award winning film Summersault) and also Queanbeyan (as
featured in NSW), but has now decided to go further afield in search of more
food. She is quite often hungry. She doesn’t know where the adventure will
take her (hopefully not like what happened to Taylor on the Bold and the
Beautiful when she got kidnapped by that evil prince and everyone thought
she was dead, but really she was just on an island somewhere… actually that
might be ok…).
Kate doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing, but she definitely won’t be
hitting Canberra stages for at least a couple of years and MEATBEE have
decided to leave it up to fate to decide whether or not she ever plays with
them again (having said that Kate will be mighty pissed if she ends up being
2007/08’s equivalent of Pete Best, so if anything good happens she is going
to try and squirm her way back into the band as a tambourine player or
something…).
On Thursday December 20th MEATBEE play their last gig for 2007 with The
Chuffs and Looking Glass at the ANU Bar so come down and have a beer with
them to celebrate all the memories/reclaim outstanding monies/finish off
arguments/re-tell old stories or jokes. Entry is $5 at the door (how cheap
is that?!?!?!).
As for the other MEATBEEs, they might be back in 2008 with a new line-up.
Maybe new hair do’s. If you’re lucky they might turn up in new pants. Who
knows, it’s a mystery…

The results are in! The winners of the MEATBEE Animation and Remix competitions have been announced.
 |
|
The winner of the animation competition are 'Staberback', a team from
Academy of Interactive Entertainment (Iain Chandler, Scott Hartnett, Tim
Quinn, Jessica Harris, Rhys Davey, Jun Lee, Warren Porter, Adam Ball and
Michael Dimmick). The team used minimal movement, an anime style of
artwork and a nicely flowing style of editing which was perfectly suited to
the changes in the music. The storyline was excellent and captured the
mood of the song. |
The winner of the Remix comp is Trikta (with help from Farquar) with his awesome remix of Nothin Good on TV. Trikta impressed us, using every drum
track he had available to him, remixing the riffs and turning out what is a
kicking dance piece!
Stay tuned for details of where and when you can check out both the clip
and the remix!
Thanks to everyone who entered! The standard was amazing and it was a very
difficult decision.
